Join the Youth Stewards Program This Summer!
Are you ready to dig in, get your hands dirty, and help make a difference in your community? The Youth Stewards Program is a unique summer experience where you’ll learn all about urban agriculture, horticulture, and sustainability — all while having fun and learning through a hands-on and paid experience! This program is part of the Youth Food and Ecology Partnership, a group of amazing nonprofits working together to close food gaps in the Fargo-Moorhead area. As a Youth Steward, you’ll get hands-on experience growing food, taking care of plants, and discovering how farming can help our planet.
Explore Gardens, Farms, and Sustainability
This summer, you’ll work alongside experienced farmers and gardeners with decades of knowledge in sustainable agriculture. You’ll get to visit, work, and care for plants at some amazing places like Prairie Rose Farm, UCC Church Garden, The Indigenous Association Garden, and other shared garden spaces. Whether you’re planting seeds, watering crops, pulling weeds, or harvesting fresh veggies, every day brings a new adventure. You’ll also learn how urban and rural farms can work together to grow food in ways that protect the environment and help feed the community.

Grow Skills, Serve Your Community, and Have Fun!
The best part? You’re not just learning — you’re making a real impact. The food you help grow will support local communities, closing food gaps and making healthy produce more accessible. Along the way, you’ll pick up valuable skills in gardening, teamwork, and sustainability that you can use for years to come. Whether you dream of being a farmer, care about protecting the planet, or just want to spend your summer outdoors making a difference, the Youth Stewards Program is the perfect place to grow. Come join us for an unforgettable summer of learning, growing, and giving back!
